Got the boat moved from Pensacola to Destin with the help of Paul and some others so I`d like to say thanks to all. Started new job and living on the boat seemed like things were turning around but figured out quickly that taking a trip from time to time and living on the the boat full time are two very different things. Putting alot more use on various systems and problems are popping up everywhere. The latest is with the CruiseAir A/C units. Seems that the raw water stainer was by-passed and sea weed got pulled through the raw water cooling pump motor and clogged the system. Pulled the hose from the intake side and opened the seacock and had good flow. Next I pulled the two hoses from the outlet side and turned on the start switch and had water flow from the outlet side of the pump. I did get a fair amount of seaweed from doing that. After putting all the water connections back together I again tried the start switch and had a small amount of water comming out the thru-hulls but only about half of what I normally have. Where do I go from here? Compressors are still kicking in.
Thanks / Rick / F-36 MissKitty

What kind of water pump do you have? They typically have plastic impellers that can fail/break due to debris. Pull the face of the pump off and check the impeller. These are replacable on most makes. Some pumps are magnetically driven, no motor shaft direct to impeller. Now would be a good time to inspect that as well and clean it up as they do stick sometimes.

Thanks Big D.
I will try that as it is getting a little warm down here. Do you think it will hurt anything if I remove the (2) hoses at the raw water discharge side of the pump and use a garden hose to try to back-wash from the thru-hulls and push everything back down the hoses toward the pump.
The A/C raw water pump is a 115-Volt made by March Manufacturing Inc. Model # LC-3CP-MD and drawing 2.0 amps.
Thanks, Rick

That won't hurt anything , you could have trash jamming the pump . the motor will run but the impeller won't . They use a magnet to spin the impeller and it will slip ( to save the motor) if there is trash in the pump. Its pretty east to take the housing of the pump if need.

While you're at it, back wash the through hull pick up. The screen on the bottom of the hull may have seaweed as well. You may have flow but are you getting full flow/volume.
