Re: Craigslist Pricing too good to be true?
sadly, from what I have learned, for the used 25+ year old boat market, this is about right, if not high for a 33' boat, especially in the southeast.
the under 30,000 range for a decent clean boat, sales seem to be very good.

Seems Like a good deal to me . What scares me is the low engine hours . How well have they been taken care of . Many things like after coolers need to be service due to time not hours . People tend to think with low hours no service is needed .

Re: Craigslist Pricing too good to be true?
I got a nice boat. Nancy and John worked their @sses off on it making it right. I kinda lucked into it because I had cash and was looking at the same time they were looking to get into something else. To be honest, I was aware of it being on the market for about 3 years before I put a deposit on it, and no BS; a member here (who ultimately ended up with a different late 70's F32) was interested in it before me but was on deployment with the Canadian Armed Forces overseas when I showed up with green stamps.
Being an owner of a very well kept, very well optioned, fresh water only, classic F-32; if someone offered me 20 grand today it would probably be gone by the weekend. I'd probably think long and hard on 18.5. Its just that simple. I'd probably throw the Sea Ray workboat back in when the ice went out (oh that thing is a friggin beaut i tell you what
) and find another F32 or F36 to kick around in until that proper 14m that I am always looking for comes along. The economics of owning one of these right now is kinda crappy.
Now, if you think thats tough love. Heres some cool stuff I own that doesn't even qualify for barn space let alone garage speace in these times. Talk about depressing.....

Actually the hull is a 37, with the pulpit and swim platform she's well over 40'

Re: Craigslist Pricing too good to be true?
Big difference between a 70s boat with 70s gas engines and a 80s larger boat with 2005 diesels . assuming everything is in good order its a god price . A lot cheaper then a re power w/ Diesels .
