help with Nav lighting

while under way at dark- I have to have my front red/green lights on, my rear white light that is on the transome, and I believe another high white light facing forward? is this correct?

while at anchor I need to have a high 360 degree white light on and that is it, correct?? thanks in advance

Sluggo, I would do yourself a favor and relocate the running light on the windshield up to the arch. It only took me about an hour to pull the existing wire up to the arch where I installed another light. Having that on the windshield kills your vision.

Bob thanks for the idea. someone has done that for me, that is I have a light on the arch, for both running an anchoring. Unfortunatly neither of them work!!! I havent have time to chase it down. So if I run at night, which is rare, I just strap a bicycle light to the light pole on the arch . BTW on the light on the arch, the back or anchor part works, the front does not, any thoughts? thanks

Sometimes the bulb sockets get slightly corroded and the contacts on the lights - a little fine sanding and they may work. This is usually my problem with the navigation lights.

After cleaning the socket and the bulb base, apply a little dielectric grease to the bulb and socket to keep moisture out. This little trick works great on all kinds of DC connections including trailer connectors and bulbs.

When I added my radar, I put it on a platform with an all around light. I disconnected the front light and the stern light stopped working. I carry a raft on the swim platform so the stern light was often covered anyways. I jumpered the all around light to be on forward and aft in either position on the light switch. The only difference now between Nav and Anchor is the two side lights.

This works for boats up to 39ft.
