Going to pull the engines on my F36 tri cabin once hauled out. I can the areas that were cut out once before to remove the engines. I was just wondering if anyone has any pictures of the engines being removed .
Any help would be great.
Finally found a place to rebuild them over the winter I just have to get them out and bring them there then back in again

Re: Looking for F36 engine removal photos
they can be removed one of two ways. 1. remove all the risers, manifolds, exhaust hoses, etc... have them lifted out in pieces through the main cabin door, or, 2. lifted in whole through the engine removal hatch above the salon cabin roof.
remove the access panel in the salon just under the windshield to expose the windshield bolts. just forward of that you will have to remove the hundreds of staples holding the headliner onto the furring strips. you will have to remove some staples along the port and starboard sides as well. once the inner area of the hatch is exposed, the attach screws/bolts/latches can be removed. the caulking/bedding compound on the outside will have to be removed. once that is accomplished, the hatch can be lifted away and the interior of the salon can be exposed. (this would be a great time to replace the sofa and or the refrigerator if you need to do that and maybe add a few bucket chairs to the salon......perhaps this would be a good time to have the genset refreshed as well ) if your boatyard is good, they should know how to do this engine removal. as a benefit to us here on the forum,it would be great if you could document this in picture form for all of us to see, especially us tri cabin owners.

When you remove the hatch, check the core material around the hatch opening. Very common spot for rot due to improper sealing after it's been removed and re-installed. If the headliner is not brittle and in good shape, ask for some advice here before reinstalling it. It's difficult to get it right if not done properly. Where are you sending the engines?
