Re: Southern Ontario Memebers
No big deal to trip from Lagoon City. Still interested in anything from GB to Pete. We are short on time and can really only commit to about 5 days total including travel time.
Season is short, we make the best of it.
Re: Southern Ontario Memebers
Looks like the only conflicting dates would be July 10th-13th and August 14th-17th. (two power boat Rendezvous') July 19th, our "family fun day and cardboard boat race". August 9th, "dinghy poker run and BBQ". A Trojan owners Rendezvous could be held at Bay Moorings at any other date either weekday or weekend. We are very close to beautiful anchorages and government docks, in addition to the amenities available at our facility. I have visions of a large TROJAN raft and great times.
I would be available to be involved with planning an event.

Been to Port Rawson Bay too, excellent anchorage and spacious.
Indian Harbour....absolutely beautiful, could handle 10-15 boat....more during the weekdays.

I'd be coming from Lauderdale Point Marina on Sparrow Lake. I'd love to make it!.. Lemme know where and when and I'll do my best.

Re: Southern Ontario Memebers
I am more partial to anchoring out than getting together in a marina. I like rafting and tieing back to shore.
Jimbo your marina pulls us far from the best anchorages North of O'Donnell point IMO.
I will go with the majority decision, I vote for further up Georgian Bay. I am not wanting to poop on your offer of a marina but I just don't consider that real boating get together location.... Boats should out away from the dock.

I hear you Michael, Beautiful area of G. bay. My thought was, if you are not really familiar with the inland route through the 30,000 Islands it can be daunting. If we met at Bay Moorings for the first night we could have a "meet and greet" and BBQ, in addition to a briefing on a trip to the anchorage of choice. (we do this with our Rendezvous. It provides the boaters who do not feel comfortable navigating the route with the confidence to participate in the cruise) We could have the people who know the waterways talk to the group about where to go and where not to go. This could take place in our "Boaters Lounge". I am good with what ever the group decides too. There are several Trojan boat owners in the area that do not participate on our site. Back in the hay day there was a Trojan dealer in Keswick, on Lake Simcoe (Dawson's), that sold hundreds of Trojans. We have over 20 in our group of Marinas alone.
Jim.

That's where mine originally came from. Still have Dawson's 'anchor' emblems stuck to the galley stove top!jimbo36 wrote:Back in the hay day there was a Trojan dealer in Keswick, on Lake Simcoe (Dawson's), that sold hundreds of Trojans.

Mine too, captain.
Re: Southern Ontario Memebers
Hi jimbo,
Thanks for the generous offer!
I, for one, would seriously consider making the trek to Georgian Bay for this event. My only concern is water depth when I come out of the system at Severn Falls. Last time through there we clipped a submerged log coming out of Waubushine!
If we can do this in July,or certain times in August, I'm up for it.
Can we get everyone who may be interested to offer up prefered locations and times?

Re: Southern Ontario Memebers
There was a big issue about low water levels prior to the 2013 boating season which turned out to be non existent. In fact the water levels remained higher than previous recent years and are up 12" over last year at this time, as we speak. Lots of opportunity for July or August event.
Should we post this as a separate item asking for interested boaters? Jim.

Best Bet For Us.
We have a wedding to attend on July 26th in Windermere (Port Carling area) on July 26. We are located at Lagoon City. We will vacation the week following, so we can participate the following week. Could possible move the boat the previous week to a marina in the area. Any suggestions as to a good location.

Re: Southern Ontario Memebers
Odds of me making it there by boat are shaping up to be slim... but I could still make it a day trip or overnight in a hotel somewhere by (ick) car...

Cap! This is a big space with lots of traveling for all. Would be good for all to get together. Hopeful! But no short trip for you regardless of location.
Have you ever slept on the fold down table. Yes mine is available if you like!

Georgian Bay will be a great place for a rendezvous. Spent some time in the Honey Harbour & Beausoleil Island area with our last boat (trailer boat) and loved it. Cruising those waters with the Trojan would be awesome however Its a little bit too long of a cruise for the 26 coming from Lasalle.
