Re: New curtains
I am having them done for my F44. I found the material I wanted at JoAnne Fabrics and found an older woman in the area that does sewing inexpensively for people, gave her my old ones as patterns and she is making them. The woman advertises in a local free classifieds magazine called the Penny Pincher. I kept them all the same size with the exception of shortening the ones in the aft cabin. The material is expensive, at JoAnne Fabrics they run 40% off sales every other month of so, it is worth waiting for the sale. This lady is making a few matching pillows too.

Thanks a lot, I'll be putting my wife on the job. It's kind of her idea anyway. What material are you using ?

Re: New curtains
I like sunbrella for canvas and stamoid for vinyl , they both hold up well in the marine environment . The normal home sew machine may not be able to handle it and .040-060 straglass , you can go lighter but don't expect it to last . My 2 cents

Re: New curtains
On our F-32, we had mini blinds on the side windows and a curtain on the sliding door aft. I purchased curtains at Bed Bath and Beyond and cut them down to fit. I removed the little plastic sliders from the old curtain and resewed them on the new curtains. I sewed the pleats as well for appearance and to aid the curtain to fold correctly when in the full open position.
As a side note, I have bought almost all of my upholstery fabric and vinyl from Joann s Fabrics, YOU MUST download their mobile app, they have 40-50-60 % off discount electronic coupons almost on a continual basis.
I also bought a Thomson walking foot sewing machine years ago and its an exact copy of a Sail Rite and it'll sew anything... there are several Asian makers of the walking foot sewing machine that I believe are all coming from the same castings ad machine shops in Taiwan or China, Sail Rites being the best finished.
hope this helps

Re: New curtains
I do not remember the names of the material, they have a huge selection there. I am just using the material to cover port holes, they are not large curtains. I am having some backing sewn on the curtains so that you cannot see through them.

Re: New curtains
Does anyone know a source for the little plastic sliders used on our curtains?

Re: New curtains
Great photos and good window treatment job, Scott. Thanks for posting.
Is that a vertical trim piece of fabric that is fastened between the blinds?

The vertical piece between the blinds is an aluminum cover, on the starboard side it is a bit deeper and acts as the wiring, shift and throttle cable raceway on the port, it simply covers the center support and seam between the windows.
I recovered it in the same vinyl that I used for the hull liner panels.
