New to the group

Post by billw1019 »

Hey everyone, my wife and I bought a 1977 flybridge express last summer and were in the process of re-doing the cabin when, due to weather and mechanical (bilge pump) and a deck drain hose coming loose and falling down into the bilge, she went down in her slip. This was in the fall. Needless to say we were devastated. We had her raised and on jacks the same day and the engines, repowered in 2009 with 5.7L mercs, pickled the following morning, then winterized. We bought her back from the insurance and are in the process of fully restoring her. We would like to keep it as stock as possible and was wondering where to get parts and accessories for her. Also there was only one window wiper motor on the starboard windshield and was wondering if it had one on the port side stock from Trojan. Anyway our mechanic is handling the engines, getting them fired back up, and I am doing all the electric re-wire so I will probably have a bunch of questions.

Welcome . Sorry about your boat sinking but it sounds like you will get to enjoy her again. Did she go totally under or just partially under?

Atlantic Marina in Pasadena MD. Forgot to mention that the boat is 30 feet in length. The surveyor that did the one when we bought her had one just like it and has been a big help also. Going to be a big undertaking but one we will see to the end.

She went down to the top of the lower helm. Bad northeasterner came through in October with 10+ inches of rain and wind gusts up to 60mph at the marina. I was at the boat the Thursday before she went down, it was Sunday early AM, checking lines and making sure everything was in order so it was a shock to get the call from the marina. Soo many emotions. We had only been out once and that was a very short run.
