Fuse for Trim Tabs

Does anyone know where the fuse for the trim tabs on a 1971 F26 is? I looked on the wiring diagram I have, but did not see the trim tab motor listed. I don't think either trim tab is working and I'm hoping it's a fuse. I'm going to check things out more thoroughly this weekend.

On My 78' F-26, there was a black electrical junction box on the bulkhead forward of the engine with a breaker in the side for the trim tabs. When I re-did the electrical system in this boat, to my surprise I also found an inline fuse for the trim tabs located behind the instrument panel in the helm. Two fuses in the same line is not the best of ideas and when hidden like that can make troubleshooting a real bitch.

Thanks. So if I pull out the rocker switches I should see the inline fuse behind them?

We supply a 20 amp inline fuse on the orange power supply wire to the back of the control switch. Some builders use it, and some supply their own fuse or breaker. If you cant find it, I would suspect they used the inline one.

Also I would check both ends of the black ground wire at the pump.

I confirmed that my trim tabs are not working. It seems that no electricity is getting to the switch. I pulled the switch but could not find an inline fuse. I also checked down in the engine room but could not find any fuses. I'm bringing my multi-meter tonight to do some more investigating. Stay tuned.

It appears my rocker switches are bad. (1) Using my voltmeter, when I put the red probe on the hot wire coming into the switch and the black probe on the ground bus bar I get 12.4 volts. (2) When I put my red probe on the wires after the switch and my black probe on the ground bus bar and push the switch I get 0 volts. (3) When I put my red probe on the hot wire coming into the switch and my black probe on the wires after the switch I get 12.4 volts. My interpretation is:

(1) Power is getting to the switch.
(2) Power is not getting through the switch.
(3) The wire and motor are good since the electricity from the switch is making it through the wire and motor and getting to ground.

I ordered a new switch. It should only take a few minutes to replace the old switch with the new switch. Hopefully that will get my trim tabs working again.
