Question for diesel guys
Are all the diesel marine engines the same rotation and if so would it be reasonable to convert the cummins 5.9 from the Ram pickups----- or is most of the cost in the gears etc---- Mike

Re: Question for diesel guys
Still would be costly but can be done . There was a company that made a kit but they are long gone . Part to do it can add up the costs . Raw water pump$ 600-800 heat exchanger $1000 manifold $900 riser/mixer $800?? then mounts and brackets trans adaptors I could go one and on , find a good used marine engine would be cheap IMO and less problems
And yes most marine diesels are the same rotation

Totally agree - I would not recommend trying to convert a truck engine unless you happen to know a lot about Cummins and have a lot of Cummins marine parts laying around for free ...prowlersfish wrote:Still would be costly but can be done . Intercoolers are important as well. And all new exhaust system. Not cheap.
