Hello group!
Just purchased my first Trojan yesterday... a 1983 F36 convertible with BBC Crusaders. Have had many various boats over the years, Carver 25, 28 & 33... primarily on the Missouri river in the Omaha area ! Retired to the Keys a couple years ago and figured it was time to get a new project that I can put wayyy too much money into!! haha!! We had some in the Omaha area , on the river, and I have always wanted one... this one!
If all goes according to schedule... I'll be pushing off from Daytona Beach and heading to Marathon - in the Keys, around June 2nd. Should be a fun 400 mile shakedown cruise!! If anyone has any experience running the ICW from Ponce Inlet south... please holler at me! I've run the Missouri, Mississippi and Illinois... so it shouldn't be too complicated.
I plan on doing lots of upgrades to it myself... so it should be a lot of fun! I really enjoy reading about other members projects... such a great source of knowledge and ideas!
Thanks much...

Welcome!
From what I have heard from others, the Doyle's ICW cruise guides are top notch. Unfortunately, they just closed shop and are not printing any more. Landfall Navigation still has some inventory at http://www.landfallnavigation.com/managing.html. That guide is not a chart book, but a mile by mile text-based guide of just about anything you might want to know. Landfall also still has copies of their two chart books that are good companions to the guide book, though if I were to buy only one, it would be the guide book. I have recently purchased all three based on friends recommendations, though I have yet to use them. From what I saw, they looked to be excellent. These books stop at the top of the Keys.
There are certainly other guide books available for the ICW and the Keys, and Active Captain is a great resource for cruising as well.
Enjoy your trip!
