Hello All,
Have a 1978 F32 with 1992 318s. As soon as I turn the ignition on the engine starts cranking. Solenoid good, ignition switch good. It's getting voltage to the start side of the solenoid on ignition and I cannot figure out why. Any ideas on where I should be looking?

Have you rewired anything on your engine lately? Or Did this just start happening?
If you rewired, check your work.
If it just started happening, than either the solenoide is shot and stuck open. Or your hot wire from the start switch is staying activated. Probably at your switch.

I replaced the solenoid last week. Found out that I was sold a floating ground solenoid. I need a base ground solenoid so I swapped out the solenoid from the other engine and now starts normally. However I loss my altenator gauge now. Hope it's not related but probably is.
