Anodes - which ones do I need and what kind? 10 Meter Express
I am having trouble finding out which anodes I need for my 10 meter. It is an 82 express NON mid-cabin. Can anyone tell me where all of them are on the boat and what to buy to replace them? I will be primarily in fresh water with a few trips into brackish a season. Please help by adding to the list or filling it in...
trim tabs - one on each - what size?
prop shaft - one each? - what size?
transom - one - what size?
anywhere else???
what type should I use? aluminum?
Thanks for any help!

Yes, aluminum if mostly fresh.
I needed a less expensive hobby, so I bought a boat!

I do have fresh water cooling. There are anodes in the heat exchangers? Where?dolcesol2 wrote:fresh water cooling system...check the heat exchangers.

Yes, bottom of the heat exchangers AND the "U"/oil coolers on the front of the engines. Both are the pencil type and easily found. Just look for the brass/hex fittings on each. There are two fittings on the heat exchanger right next two each other, the pencil zinc is the larger of the two.

Thank you. Do you know which ones they are to order?BobCT wrote:Yes, bottom of the heat exchangers AND the "U"/oil coolers on the front of the engines. Both are the pencil type and easily found.

1/4" for the oil cooler and I believe 3/8" for the HE. If they haven't been done regularly, you probably won't see anything when you remove the plugs. The zincs thread into the brass if you look closely. I would buy the first set with the plugs and then going forward just the zincs, it's a little cheaper this way. Just re-use the brass plugs each time.

Thanks again. How long should the zincs be?BobCT wrote:1/4" for the oil cooler and I believe 3/8" for the HE.
