If you look at the 1st few pages of this thread you will see all of my seacocks Where completely locked up. I had them rebuilt by Bob from Beacon marine. They did an amazing job. I would definitely reach out to him 1st before you completely drive yourself crazyDaddiorick wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 10:41 am Will check my anchor locker. Thanks. Re: Cappy's f32 rehab
Actually I suspect my soft deck is more a result of a previous owner removing the bulkhead/door frame that separates the v berth. Removing the frame and starboard side of the bulkhead let the starboard hatch drop down about an inch. This created a dip that no doubt held rainwater against the hatch and a lifeboat which is bolted between hatches. My pln is to jack the deck back up until both hatches are even before attacking with the structural foam.I will also leave a permanent post on the inside to better support the deck.

+100....Totally agree, had the same issue when they replaced stringers and got the door frame support at the wrong height, strongly suggest anyone should consider this result.Daddiorick wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2019 8:42 pm Actually I suspect my soft deck is more a result of a previous owner removing the bulkhead/door frame that separates the v berth. Sorry for the misdirect , I believe this to be very important for these models.

Agreed that wall gives structural support to the above deck.

The Express model didn't have a complete wall. It's on the port side only

Ok been a while since I posted or updated. It's been a terrible running season. Long and short of it is 2 new engines.
If anyone needs any parts from ford 351 Merc 233 engines let me know. 2 rebuilt carburetors, air intakes, fuel pumps, starters, etc. Anything I can salvage off of the engines I will for you.

Re: Cappy's f32 rehab
Having what I believe to be a fuel issue and potentially one engine pulling back the other. I get to 4k rpms for a very short time, then both engines pull back by themselves to about 3k rpms. Took fuel filters off of the starboard engine and had a good amount of water in the first filter. Pulled the first filter of the port engine and zero water. All clean gas.
This is what makes me believe that one engine is pulling back the other. I added fuel stabilizer that removes water to the one tank and I'm going to replace the fuel filters. Run the engines again and see what happens.
Also ordered new fill o rings to replace the current.
Also anyone ever hear of thermostats being removed from engines running in lakes? Ran the engines for a while and didnt move the gauges. I have continuity from the sender to the guage. Wondering of the senders are different or maybe a ground issue. These are all on the list of things to do this weekend before the trip from the bronx to the new house in long island.

Rich - Just a hunch but your new engines may have come with sending units for VDO gauges and if your boat has original gauges, they are Delco.
Bob at Beacon can help you with sending units. Also, make sure you have the right configuration of single or dual station sending units.

Temp gauges were replaced even with old engines. I'll figure it out... that's the least of my worries.gitchisum wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2019 10:07 pm Rich - Just a hunch but your new engines may have come with sending units for VDO gauges and if your boat has original gauges, they are Delco.
