PK,
We just don't want to see you swimming around in that cold, cold water, diving down to retrieve your wallet, glasses and keys....

Just trying to help you prevent headaches down the road...

The flex disc will be fine.

Ahh.... Today came with a very nice weather..... At last. Temp rised to 12-14 C, and everything felts allright. I have put in the freshwater pump today, as well the both seawater filters and freshwater filter. And I have finished all tubes and pipes from toilet, sinks and drains. Tomorrow I will make the cables from batteries to the mainboard, and I will start making the ventilation system with defroster and heater. I have made a radiator that fits direct in the hole from the old A/C. I will fit in a regulator for the air passing trough the "ventbox", as well as a temp regulator. And "voila!", I have something that will work better in those cold climate.
The only problem I´ve got today is the form and size of the toilet. I bought a toilet the other day, and todayI found the toilet a bit too small. It fits in the longitude, but it is a little too narrow. Either I have to change toilet bowl, or I have to make a new hole in the wall/floor for the toilet. But it will still be a toilet type vacum.......
Tomorrow I will start to clean the engine room, make all things clear for the engines, and also start the painting of her under water line paint. A scedule for splash? Maybe early next week...? Or maybe i n 14 days? I´m not sure......

Monday: Started this day with intention on work in the engine room again. I discovered the seawater filters I mounted had inlets on 1-1/2". The valves in the bottom is on 1-1/4". It was only to remove the filters. A quick phone to the dealer, and I will have new ones on Wednesday afternoon. Lucky! I have also put in the propshafts, and rerouted the fuellines. So today I called it a day pretty early. My old man celebrated his 81th yearday today, and I had to be there celebrating as well. He is living in a nursery home, a box filled with grey hair and walking sticks...... But he likes it. (lot of nice nurses...) But tomorrow.....!! Tomorrow I will wash down the engine room, clean it all. And finish the work with rest of the pipes, hoses and fittings. And if possible put in the heater for the cabin. The battery cables are in place, the same is most of the other stuff in engine room. Maybee I can start to put in the engines on Thursday.....

Sure Larry! I will tell you as fast I know how it works. I think it´s a cheap device to smoothen out any vibration from the engine or propeller.

We have changed both seawater filters, have finished all freshwater pipes and tubes, connected seawater intakes to filters, and at last I have removed the old fuel filters sited down in lazarette.....

I hope your raw water intakes/seacocks/strainers are adequate for your new engines.
I had to enlarge mine to 2" to insure adequate flow to the diesel engines.
Now would also be a good time to add a couple of extra 12 volt engine room lights, especially on the outboard sides of the engine room.
This makes a big difference when servicing and to keep an eye on things like a loose hose or dripping fitting, etc.
Keep the pictures coming !

RWS: I think the intake is big enough for this engine. Not only think... I know. I have read in the manual for the engines, and the producer said minimum 1" intake. I have 1-1/4".
Waiting for the crane.... The fellow called me late this afternoon, just to ask me if it was today or tomorrow......

Then I had to do something else, like put in a new breater pipe / hose from the head tank to outside. I have ordered something called an "Odor-filter", wich I will put in on the breather line as soon as I get it.

And I have starte with the installation of the new toilet bowl. The old one was beyond repair, and I wanted the original Vacum system onboard. Now I´ve got it. But teh bowl was a bit to small compared to the originally Mansfield bowl. The one I got now is a TMC bowl, with a vacum pump in the line. I think it will be working fine. I have also got my new hatches on the deck (one was broken, the other looked like a spider web) from the glassguy in Oslo. Tomorrow morning I will start to hoist the engines....... Wish me luck!

There have been three days with "blind works". It means work without no result. First day (actually two days ago) we started to put in the engines. We were almost there when we discovered the dipstick pipes was mounted wrong. We took the engines out again, and started to replace the pipes. Then I discovered a small crack in the oil pan, and took the pan off to weld it. Tht was yesterday. Today I´ve got all the bits and bobs back and together, all assemblied. And we got the engines onboard. There is just enough space for two engines as big as those engines. Even the seawater filters was placed in a narrow place.... So now I have to reroute the pipes for Diesel filters and extra lubeoil filters. But: the engines in in the room!

....and the port engine. Not much space between deck and engine. I guess I have to insulate the area around the turbocharger.....?
