Would not have hurt the crank bolt but would not have spun engine. Good choice. U should have a good flywheel and I bet the starter inside is good. A word I could not find brushes for starter. A local starter generator shop made em. New bushings turned armiture and brushes cost me 50 per starter.

It will be a while before I can get to the flywheel. I may as well drop starter off for a rebuild, place around here is good. Prices and honesty are always reliable. I'll drop it off tomorrow. Call me stupid but thought was crossing my mind the impact would turn it until someone good to me said don't!

so I learned a few new things this week. Dont try to turn a long block with an impact. Im not a mechanic but I love to learn all engines. I did it with old Harley motors and just didnt think. I learned again that I talk to much, thanks mom. Any way!! its going to rain all weekend of course so next weekend! Its rub rails, Bow rails and full windsheild removal while my little crew of helpers make the scaffeling to remove the heart!. She should be gutted and ready for a real complete paint job just in time before the heat. If I cant produce the $ I will wait till late summer when temps cool down. We will see. My daughter is making drawing now. She can draw!! black hull, white top with Yahct style windsheild painted, hmmm i dunno. Need to see it first. I like the painted winsheild look but....sounds weird on this boat... Maybe she will finish tonight and email it to me from chicago....im standing here looking at the boat and just dont see it. she is using a pic i took from the top of my shed about 90 feet away from the boat. uhg im waiting on a drawing from a 13 year old LOL
