Turtlem:   the wrong list... Here is a small story about Santa. Ofcourse a bit "off topic", but anyway:

To insure Santa has a safe flight, the Federal Aviation Administration now sends an inspector to the North Pole to check out Santa Claus's sleigh before allowing him to fly on Christmas eve.

The inspector arrived and checked the reindeer -- and they looked good. He checked the harness and it looks OK. He checks the sleigh and it appears the hull is sound.

"Santa, let's take it up for a check ride," the inspector said. "If everything looks good I'll certify you to fly tonight."

Santa hitches the reindeer up and taxis onto the runway, and just as he's starting his takeoff roll he looks over and notices the inspector has a pump shotgun on his lap.

"Hey!" Santa yells. "What's the shotgun for!?"

"Well, Santa, I'm really not supposed to tell you this," the inspector said, "but there's going to be an engine failure on takeoff...."

My work is to drive different "stuff" for the Norwegian Defence Dep., all over Norway and Europe. Is there a Nato-base around, I have been there. Here is from a trip on last Wednesday, between Oslo and Bergen (Eastern and western part of the country). Minus 2 degrees Celcius, lot of snow, but good weather.

Back to the Trojan; Here is the empty engine room. I will remove all the tubes and wiring, the water heater tank, the aircondition, the charger unit with all 115 Volt equipment / household stuff, clean everything down there, and paint things that needs a new white layer.

There was a bit of rust on the engine beds. Time for sandblasting and new paint. Or maybe I will make them in stainless steel..... :)

This one is also gone into the history-book. I will put in a brand new one, heated by the engine cooling system, and 230 Volt shore currency.

Is there anyone who wants a Trojan 10M express? The boat is not complete, missing windscreen, propellers, and probably some other minor parts. Just let me know!

Hi PK,

Once you get the engine room cleaned up and painted things will begin to look and feel much better than right now.

Going to the diesels, we used flast aluminum bars, 1/2" across the entire top of the stringers - all four.

The idea wa to spread out the load as the diesel have far more torque than the gas engines did.

Also my water heater looks the same as yours, however it is fitted with an engine water circulation system that makes hot water by circulating the port engines fresh water system into the water tank ala heat exchanger.

WORKS GREAT!

We also replaced the raw water intake scoops and seacocks as we needed to increase the size for the diesels need for more cooling water circulation.

The seacocks are as follows:

2 for the engine raw water intake
1 for the generator raw water intake
1 for the raw water washdown/livewell intake
1 for the air conditioner raw water intake
1 for the waste tank dump

I've posted the photos here previously. If you need any additional photos, let me know and I'll get you what you want.

Thanks RWS!! Useful information there! How big is your hotwater tank (in liters)? I also thought about a mixed connection between the both engines and into the "boiler tank".... What do you think about that?

I will do the painting work tomorrow, if the weather is good enough. They said on the MET forecast there was possible snow incoming.... Good greef. And on Monday we have the National Day (Liberation Day) here in Norway. Maybe it´s time for Santa....

By the way; The seacocks:
2 for the engine raw water intake: This one is OK.

1 for the generator raw water intake: Must be Blinded.

1 for the raw water washdown/livewell intake: Is this one for the small pump on the aft deck? The one for flushing?

1 for the air conditioner raw water intake: Must be blinded.

1 for the waste tank dump: Here I´ve got a problem. Waste Tank Dump....? What is that? Gray water? Or spill water from the holding tank? Sorry, my english is "lousy"....... :(

====================================

The sinks and shower drain directly overboard.

The head pumps into the waste tank.

The waste tank can be pumped out at a sanitarypump out facility at a dock or you can use the macerator pump to discharge the tank overboard when you ar ewithin a legal discharge zone.

The macerator is a pump with blades in it like a garbage disposal.
