That depends. If your trying to get a measurement to tell your friends how big your boat is, its from the tip of the pulpit to the back of the swim platform. If calculating footage for slip rental, then its measured at the water line. (Grin)

I have been told that at one point they changed how they measure boats and started measureing the pulpit and swim platform so depending on the year of the boat it might have been measured or not.Iam not sure of what year they did that .

best bet for prop sizing is to take all the information you can get, most repitable shops have a form
you take it and it asked for several measurments and engine information and hull design
then feed it into a computer and model it
then will give you the best selection for the performance your looking for
at most shops on the texas gulf coast this is free
I just reproped last year and what a differance!
