I have been looking at this for a year now and have come up with the solution for my situation. I have dish at home, I have a receiver at my place at the lake ($5.00 a month) and will move it to the boat when I need to. The dish for the boat I finally settled on is a Marine-Sat 16" dish (see attached link). I do not watch tv on the hook or have 115V generator so having to lock on to the Sat is not a problem. This is a portable dish and very quick to set up on the boat and align when at the dock. I looked at omni directional a recieved a lot of mixed reviews.

antenna problems

Post by Mrsluggo »

My good friend Eddie"O" has the 2025 antenna on the beautiful LITTLE WOMEN F32 and it was mounted on the flybridge . it did not work well untill he mounted it on a 8" extension mast . to get it above the frame of his enclosure and it helped very much. now he likes to stay in side and watch cartoons
just for fun

I just purchased the 2025 made by Winegard and should have it up and running soon. I am very interested in seeing how it performs.

If any of you have splitters for more than one tv, upgrade it to a digital splitter.

We have two 20" hdtv lcds, 1 in salon and 1 in the forward stateroom, and our reception from the onboard and dockside antennas were lousy. We could not get but a few digital channels. Now with the new splitter we get 26 local digital stations around Pensacola.

I just finished the install on a Shakespeare 2025 antenna made by Winegard and I could not be any more pleased. I am right downtown, center city in Erie and can pick up Erie, Detroit, Canada and Buffalo. I had a total of 22 channels locked that were a mix of analog and digital. Of those 18 were watchable. It will be nice when the digital signals go full power next month.
I have this hooked to 4 tv sets and 2 stereos without any noticeable loss of signal, although this unit is amplified. I am running the amplifier turned up all the way without any signal overload at all.

I'm in a marina in Philadelphia. We have cable at the slips, but this year with the switch for broadcast TV I now get perfect digital reception with our marine antenna and Jenson flatscreen HDTV.

When out in the water, there is no reception when we're moving, but it's perfect when at anchor.

It is a flawless picture, and it'll be nice on our Chesapeake trip this year to be able to pick up all the stations out of Baltimore in digital, assuming they are broadcasting the same.
