I think it is worth a response because I care what my grandkids, kids and I boat and swim in. Please google "dog pollution of coastal waters". You'll find that:
1. Thousands of TONS of dissolved dog excrement are washed into our waterways by rain
2. This pollution is traceable back to dogs by DNA
3. The majority of dog owners do not pick up behind their pets.
4. Of those that do, only 20% dispose of it in a way that keeps it out of the water
5. Dog excrement pollution is a bigger problem than septic tank leaks or treatment plant overflows
I conclude that the more boaters that are convinced to become dog people by favorable dog posts, the nastier the water you and I boat in.

At our marina you don't pick up after your dog . you and your dog are gone . and thats the way it should be . You respect of others you have a right to have a dog , but no right to push them on others

Birds (especially Pelicans) are bad - they leave a lot of poop on my boat.

Fish make nice pets ... and taste good on the grill.

I think this thread has gone way off topic!! It just started as a little story about a dog for god sake, chill out and let it be!

Anyhow, nice to see your post, Aaron. I haven't been as active on the forum lately, but on the occasion I have gotten on, hadn't seen much from you & was wondering how you're doing. Glad to see you're enjoying this boating season. How's your dad been?

We would not have these issues if dogs would learn to use their trim tabs
