Diesel repower
I was really hoping you guys would provide a stringer case for the diesel, because I'm looking for a repower for my F25 and from the pictures, that Chrysler looks to be in great condition.
Rodman, if you friend decides to repower, I want that motor!
If I can't find a decent core to start with, I'll probably just wait until next winter and start with mine.

Diesel repower
First thing that's wrong with mine is that it's raw water cooled.
After that, it's burns a little oil, lacks power, gulps gas, and it's seriously loud. It does start and run reliably and I plan to use it as-is this season, but I'd like to add clean it up, add some power, and maybe lower my burn a little bit.
I am planning for the rebuilt engine to have a FWC kit on it.
I don't want to hijack this thread so I'll add that I considered a diesel repower too until I learned how expensive it would be and not really a DIY project at all.
I found this site and it gave some good examples of gas-to-diesel repowered boats. Then I found our how much these guys were spending and I quickly scrapped the idea. I'm not sure the performance advantage is even significant for my application and it would take many thousands of hours to pay back the cost in fuel savings.

I was going to do the diesel thing with my F30 ,but I bought a F36 instead
(with diesels ) I now have a bigger boat that burns less fuel thats a win win to me

What does it have today? 218, 351 or 350?
Have your bro-in-law snap up a used engine just like he has and put it in there, and enjoy the boat as-is. He'l have spares, a good running baot, and KNOWLEDGE!
Just my opinion. Unless that 7.3L is ready to come out of your F350!
