You may be right about the rear vents - I just don't remember seeing how air gets from the vents, through the rear bulkhead behind the engines, and into the engine compartment. I will look again next time I am out.
I have only had mine a few months and have not had it out in truly bad water yet, so I was being cautious in my statements about sea handling.
