Those other boats are listed between $18k and mid $30s... If that is many many many times more than you paid for what you have, I would suggest you may have a much much much bigger problem than you think you have. I hope you don't, but again I must say, please don't kill anybody.

Turtlem, you're right, I did react a little when you said what you said earlier, sorry about that. It did work though. I didn't take the boat out, instead I pulled the locker floor Vbirth panels and forward head floor. I found what I expected. Bulk head fiber glassing has broken free from the bulk heads where the stringers attach at the forward end.

More importantly I found the stringers attachment bolts (all 4) to the forward bullhead (locker and forward head) were loose/missing. Once I repair everything (which shouldn't be too hard), those attachment lag bolts will be checked every year. I suggest that anyone who has one of these boats do the same.

Captain Manaic - You are a manaic and possibly my hereo for what you're taking on. By the way, I think part of my problem did come from bad blocking. According to the stringer structure I will always have a mid support pad under the chine just forward of the v drive. I see in your photo you only have 2 per side.

Bob- i got two stands per side and also have 4 rows of blocks under the keel that take up 90 percent of the weight, the stands are more or less for balance.

I finished (mostly everything) and yes it was allot of work, but I believe she is better and stronger than she was new.

I retabbed most of the bulk heads and added reeinforcement to the aft head bulkhead. All connections with the stringers were changed from zinc lag bolts to Stainless thru bolts with nyloc nuts. After allot of input from a very experienced forum member I added 3/16" x 4" x 82"/78" (before cutting) 304 stainless plating along the outer stringers. These plate stiffen the 3" tall stringer area and also were part of the repair where the outer stringers were broken at the engine supports.

In order to help hold the fuel tanks I added rubber between the tank cradle and the tank at the straps. I used bicyle inner tubes and just cut them in half. The old rubber between the straps was cracked and had worked itself off the tank.

I took her out yesterday and she is solid now. I do have to take care of some movement at the main stringers to the transom (see more recent posting by 13foot beam). That should pretty easy.
