The 1000 could be the cold cranking amp rating of the batteries he is proposing to replace.

1000 cca would be plenty of battery

Engines are 318 mercs. ??? if they are 318 engines the are Chrysler , if they are mercs the most likely fords (302 or 351)unless replaced they could be GM . None of them are bad

As Paul said, 1000 cold cranking amps is plenty of battery power.

Can't open the link you posted.

I saw a photo , the boat is a Sea Raider ( and named Sea Raider ) . Hard to tell from 1 photo ( send more ) It looks like it could use a liltle TLC but not too bad ,

Look for rot as it has wood top sides , wood top sides mean more work but sure look nice when done .

Welcome, Dave... the Craigslist boat is another Sea Raider model with wood deck and cabin. Looks like it's been modified into a sedan (fully enclosed wheelhouse), unusual for 25'! You should consider that a 25' boat is in a different league than a 31' boat. If this is going to be your first cruiser, you may want to start small and work your way up. And if you do go that route, buy something with decent resale potential. Fixer uppers aren't always as easy to sell as boats needing little or nothing. And as already stated, any older boat can be great if it's been maintained well... and an expensive headache if it wasn't.
Current Boats:
1972 35' Chris Craft Commander
1962 18' Chris Craft Cavalier

Former Trojans:
1972 F-36 Tri-Cabin
1976 F-26 Express HT
1978 F-25 Express HT
