THANKS MTP !

I always thought that running light on the windshield frame was obnoxious!

Seriously, it gets in your eyes, lights up the forward deck, and kills your night vision.

What were they thinking?

I have an all around light as mentioned on the arch and when underway the transom light comes on as well.

I saw the one on the radar arch. I have the same one, but it's my anchor light. There is a second running light in the middle of the windshield.

Could you go with only 1? Legally that is.

I agree the windshield light is in an awful location. It is especially bad if you are in the rain at night and trying to see through the windshield.

Yes but it needs to be a split type( combo ) with 2 bulbs front part used for ruining lamp and both parts use for anchor . like this

Putting a light right in the line of site is just plan stupid . and the fact its legal is even dummer and many boats are made that way , and to do it when they have another place to put it it like the arch I just don't under stand .

I wonder how many accidents happen because of this where the opp. can't see ?

My setup

Radar Arch - 100% all around light used when running at night and at anchor

Transom light - used only when running.

Still meets min USCG requirements

Good. I'm gonna kill that windshield one. It gives me a headache!
