G36 -

How far can you boat before hitting locks? Do you go through the locks much?

There was a nice twin diesel powered Tri-Fly (?) fr sale in AL that might have been on the TN river ... anyone have the link?

hey ross
i am 17 river miles north of chickamauga lock which is on the way down river to chattanooga. once through the lock it is 6 miles to the downtown riverfront and all the attractions.
if i go north i am 42 miles from watts bar dam. this is also a nice lake it is larger than the chickamauga resevoir i am on. going through the locks are free and very easy. we do this often. we like going downtown. we go downtown and stay many weekends and go to the aquarium or other things bar hop etc. bike ride the 14 miles on the riverwalk etc. there are also other festivals that you could attend on the boat if you wish. we also spend many weekends tied up with friends in the coves or by ourselves to be alone
here is a link to the online river charts of the tennesee river. my marina (pine harbor)is on map 71. watts bar lock is on map 76 and chickamauga lock is shown on map 68. you of course can venture farther up river and down river. the charts will help with that info also. just click. we boat here year round so i dont have to go without. let me know if you have other questions

I will surely keep you posted. Being on the river seems like it might be fun. I'm really hoping that work allows me to work virtual. I'm going to need to do a lot of traveling any way it goes between Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta and Jacksonville.

It would really stink to have to sell my dock and first Trojan!
