No swim platform that would kill the deal the next thing I find out there's no queen platform bed in the aft Captain stateroom and no bathtub. O wait second someone didn't put the back of the boat on there's a big hole where the party deck should be.

The hull truth is anything but they all think if its not a contender or a Viking its a POS if it won't cruse at 50 knots and 70 wot then its a under powered pig . the only hull that is any good is a deep vee . any boat used and over 5k better be like new
Go post and say your looking at a bayliner and watch out
I almost forgot To tow a john boat you must have a 4x4 diesel p/u

The pictures didn't look bad for $6k ...Originally Posted by prowlersfish (King Paul)Originally Posted by bamaboy473 View Post
Every caution on this thread proved true; this boat is well into the netherlands despite having been owned by the same person for 25 years. Green cheese on butt ends and busses, loose wiring, dead batteries, and the lines aren't anything to write home about.
The good things were those teak accents, super access to the Cummins engines and the bilge, and the hull looked to be absent of damage.
The bad included a general lightness of every feature; 1" railings, lightweight ladders, all glass panes had cracks in them. Not enough good to even think about getting into it.
Thanks all for the input; that's how we all learn!
The boat is only 6k what did you expect ? a new boat ?
Now for the Trojan know it alls. the early F36 conv. came with 440s and offered the cummins 504 diesel as a opption . and later the 460 then the 454 was the standard engine . They never ever came with 1 to 1 gears shafts were 1 3/8 or 1.5 " many other brands where using 1 1/4 . Glass decks where the most common after 72 . Flattest hull ever ??rides like cap in anything over a 2 foot swell ? GIVE ME A BREAK ! sure its not a deep V and it won't rock and burn fuel like one. all hull have there good and bad points
I know you a think you should get a new 40 foot boat for 6k Get real .
My boat(a F36) is not perfect but serves me well .

Yes, good job Paul.
(from the hull truth)
"Keep in mind, Trojan's were always price boats - the Sea Ray or Four Winns of today"
For the life of me I really can't remember seeing a mid 70's Searay or Four Winns running around under it's power.... I know they must be out there, I just haven't seen one.

i really get a laugh out of the "which truck should i buy" threads. some of them mental midgets are unbelievable. responses like "yeah, i pull my 34 foot contender with triple yamaha's behind my wife's mini van and it pulls fine"!
i heard that THT was supposed to be full of useful info but after reading some of the posts on there, i changed my mind in a hurry! all i have to say is, if i lived by some of them guys I'd be afraid to leave my house on account of their stupidity would get me killed!
your right Paul, some of them guys talk a pretty good game but i think the extent of their boat ownership is paying a buddy gas money to take them fishing.

i kind of figured once that post about the f36 trickled to here the hair was going to fly. especially the comments about them being a" price boat" and the one about Trojans being "horrible in anything over a 2 foot chop".
lots of keyboard professionals on there that's for sure.
