Scope
The length of the anchor rode (line) relative to the depth of the anchor. For example 100 feet of anchor rode in 20 feet of water would be a scope of 5:1. A scope of 7:1 or more is usually used depending on the holding ground.
Wind, current, bottom hardness, and whether you are gonna sleep! are all factors.


To drop a fore and aft anchor, simply drop your bow anchor and drift back further than you need to, drop the stern anchor and pull forward till you have enuff line out back. Then make em fast. (Tie em up)
