Gypsy,
My son and I were up close your way yesterday, I think. We were checking out a marina called Cherokee Cove, or something like that on Old Hickory lake? It had a steakhouse there too.
Larry Jr's child support ends this May, so he's thinking about getting a larger boat. He said from there he could do a loop trip?
We live next door to each other here on Weakley Ln, so it would be about a 25 mile trip (one way) to get to the boat, but he said it didn't bother him, getting the expanded area he could operate the boat. It only took about 20 min. to get there.
But I was wondering where this place was from where you are? And if you know anything about the marina. Compared to mine, it looks great. But you never know?
Thanks,
Larry

Hey Larry!
Sorry I didn't see your post. Cherokee Boat Dock and Steakhouse (GRRREAT MEALS!!!) is 7 miles upstream of me right at the hwy 109 bridge. The old section of the dock is somewhat delapidated but the new sections are really nice. Great people to deal with and a bunch of friendly boaters. Your son can navigate anywhere in the WORLD from Old Hickory Lake. It takes me about 15 minutes by road and by water...well, it just depends on the mood we're in! Ussually we take a nice easy hour or so ride, get settled at the spacious guest dock, go get on the waiting list, (not a long wait,20 mins.) have a cold one or a cocktail and shoot the breeze with guests or other boaters. Take a bottle of wine in with you, or a bottle of Crown have a great meal and if it gets "too late" stay tied till morning for a small fee? They've never charged me. Hope that gives you something to work with!!! Welcome to come over and we'll take a ride up the river! SPRING IS JUST AROUND THE BEND!!! Oh, they are closed Mondays.
Mike
