You really want Deep Cycle (as used for Trolling Motors) batteries for this setup.

That's what I bought. type 29 @ 125 ah.

Larry, you'll be fine, and if the one Maxx 29 won't give you 10 hours, 2 will. Just try the method I recommended.....do what you just did at the dock, but stay aboard the boat and see how long it takes to run down to the 40% range, using the volt meter. You can go the cheap route and borrow a multimeter or pick one up at wal mart for under $20. Hook the ends to the battery (pos to pos, neg to neg) set the meter for dc power and sit back and relax on the boat AT THE DOCK WITH THE AC POWER OFF. If you spend 10 hours there and it's still ok, you just passed your own test, and you can relax on the boat with no worries about running out of power away from the dock. Heck, take a walk, grab some lunch, come back and check the meter if you get cabin fever.

i promised myself i wouldnt do this but
125 ah you have only about 63ah to draw out before being at 50%.
as stated earlier i can promise you will see the fridge pull at least 10amps dc when running 63/10=6.3 hrs fridge running. do you ever run a 12v fan, radio or anything else?

yes you probably wont have a problem right now. its only in the 50-60's so fridge wont be running alot. wait till this summer when its 95-98 degrees here in tn and you'll see the fridge run way more. do you ever anchor out and spend the night out on the hook?

Even using your figures, the fridge will run for 6.3 hours consistently, but it won't. I'll have it very cold using shore power when we leave the slip, and even if it runs 1/2 hr of every whole hr,,,that's 12.6 hours staying cold.

As I have said before, we'll only be out perhaps 10 hrs at the very most. We never have and never will stay out a night on the hook. We live 2 miles from our boat, and if we ever did stay a night on the boat, it would be at our slip, using shore power.

If I find that I can't get 10 hrs, I'll buy another Maxx 29 battery from Wally World. It may not be from the same lot, but it will be the same battery, and I know what the deal is there.

I'm doing the best I can, with the funds I have, and with the help from all of those, including you, out there, I have a good chance I'll be enjoying my boat to it's fullest.
