Mturvey, The only downside I see is re-sale. As a previous Yacht Broker I always found it hard to understand why consumers and boat builders always harp on the shower option when they are rarely used :? If you plan on keeping your boat awhile, I say make it the way you want it. Just bear in mind when it comes time to sell it may be a factor. jimbo36

I thought about that, but you know - up here, boats really only have value if they are useful. A shower in a boat w/ a 40 gallon tank is not useful :) My parent's boat has two showers, and I think the one in the master stateroom has been used two or three times, and the one in the front has never been used. I am leaving the shower floor in there, and there is a drain (although the pump doesn't work) so we can hang drippy coats up if we need to.

I may regret doing this.... we will see.

First thing I did after getting my Sea Raider was take out the shower curtain.....the shower on this boat is a joke. The drain pan was about 18 inches square, the curtain was mounted on a round track that was about 18 inches in diameter..........the hand held shower head connected to the sink faucet.........I'm 6' 4"..............need I say more???............John

When it comes time to sell, just don't mention it. ( Don't list it as a feature either!) No one will notice till the first extended cruise.

I don't think I have ever heard of anyone ever buying a boat because it had a nice shower. :? Sponge baths are alot easier and save on water.

I also re-did the countertops while I avoided finishing the bathroom. I kinda need to put in a new outlet cover :)

That was a big plus on buying ours . No shower stall no sale IMO .

I guess the more south you go the more you need it /what it ( hotter temps )
