There are a few low bridges but knowledgeable haulers know to exit and return at them and to use side road for a couple of old ones.
My F32 came from Windsor Ont to Midland, On with the bridge on transported on a lowboy at 14' 6"

Ready123, My F36 Tri will be hauled from Belleville to Midland/Penetanguishene as well. Yes the company, Landtug, knows which is the best route for my boat. Experience counts!

Why, no time to take her up the Trent? Hmmm I might offer to do it for you at half the haul rate.
Any good marinas in the Belleville area?
I'm thinking the drive from Toronto each weekend maybe easier than fighting the 400 traffic, last summer I was often taking 3hrs to get to my boat. Looks like Belleville could be almost an hour less.

ready123, You got that right! Going from running the Municipal harbours in Bellevlle to GM of Bay Moorings, a full service facility, I am sure from the end of March to May/June I will have my hands full.

My haul quote is $1200 with permits plus tax. Cheeper than the fuel cost by far. Plus, I have done the Trent-Severn many times. Vacationing and delivering boats. To complicate things, I have my eye on a F40 Trojan at Starport in Lake Simcoe, yikes!

Belleville Harbour is great. However, the local cruising area, as nice as it is, would be a huge let down compared to Georgian Bay.

Many Belleville boaters dock in the 1000 Is. Ivy Lea, Gananaque or even Kingston. Great cruising both Canada and Stateside there. I would say 2nd to GB.

Maybe you should move down to Bay Moorings. The 400 extension and 93 to MIdland/Penetang would cut some time off for you

Sorry man, must be the salesman in me

I started my GB experiences in Midland back in the '80's (Wye Heritage now Doral). Nice try though...
Giving up the 1 hr run North by boat to above O'Donnell Point every weekend vs a longer car drive was a no brainer choice.
The anchorages down your way are so full on the weekends it is not worth it. I know people who live nearer that take their boats out Thursday night and drop anchor to grab a spot so they can dinghy back to it for the weekend.... a game I won't play.
In fact a marina owner in Honey harbour leaves his boat in Regatta Bay (Franklin Island) for the Summer months.
Thanks for the info on maybe moving further east... way back I looked at a Tri cabin at Ganonoque (Kingston marine brokerage), maybe I have to think about the Kingston area.... though it won't save much time and is a longer trip.

Oh yeh, I hear you about the crowds.

In fact, this is a huge issue in the 1000 Is. as well. I have a good friend who docked his F32 at Wye Heritage in the 80's Dave Bardeau. He is the one I mentioned on a previous post who now lives in Florida and has no interest in boating there. Misses GB. FYI, Doral has been renamed Wye Haritage.

Also, Severn Boat Heaven and Jim Earle have been taken over by the Starport Group

shame that, Severn boat haven I really liked senator Kelly, him and I shared many a beer when I did the roof on his cottage there in the 80's.
I was up there this summer and they said he had been put in a home and the kids had taken over and were selling

A tri cabin is 13' 6" from the bottom of the keel to the top of the windshield . + another 8" for the props with the keel level.

Rooferdave, don't quote me on this but I thought I heard something about a principal of the business had passed away. Hope I heard wrong.
