Hope everything goes as planned. Make sure to check the transmission drive plate for cracking and broken springs. Another source for chrysler parts is Hurrikain marine products.Used them for some hard to get pieces.

thanks kallen i got everything off last night no problem. springs on the flex plate look good. took flywheel to the clutch place here. they had repaired this sometime ago although they werent sure when. they said the pins were there because the flywheel is worn where the ring gear goes. thus the pins. they are going to put it back together and tack weld also. but would not guarantee it. they recommend looking for another flywheel.
i have purchased from hurrikan also they even show a flyweel in stock but when i emailed them they responded no, sorry, and their suppliers dont have one either

I just had this problem. Drove me crazy thinking the starter was bad. I modified a 4" C clamp and pulled the starter ring back in place through the starter hole. This took about a half hour, then I spot welded it in 6 even places. Works great!!! Sure beats tearing out the tranny. If you need PICS email me mscho3(at)gmail.com change the (at) to @
