1995 390 express wrote:hi as far as i know there are plenty of 454 and 502 gm engines available in left hand rotation. they have brand new crate motors as well as remanufactured long blocks and for right hand rotation there is just remanufactured long blocks. most of the remans require a block exchange or core charge and they vary in price. i found a place with in reasonable distance and saved shipping and core charge and sales tax. i got a brand new 454 320 hp with oil pan valve covers harmonic balancer and timing chain cover all installed with roller rockers gen 6 for 4800.00 and a reman. right hand rotation long block gen 5 for 3250.00 . when i was there last they were waiting on a shipment of 502's - don t know if you already solved your problem -if not i hope this helps good luck

i agree w/ paul.... i doubt that this spells the end of remanufactured big blocks. if it does, and i need a repower again, i'm SOL. i have 1996 ford 351's (seamaxx/PCM) on my 1982 tri cabin.

you don't have big blocks , and the 6.0 gm small block would be a great choice for repower

oops... thought a 351 was a big block. but i just looked at a pic of my engine and it says, 5.8. so that means it's a small block? thanks for setting me in the right direction paul. always great to learn new stuff. :)
