Mitch,
I don't think anyone here knows anything about you or your boat.
It's nice to think that folks participate in forums to help and share ideas. And many times, we have some some banter going on here too. Friendly banter.
But just reading some of your posts and replies, one can only wonder why you bother? Your statements don't make much sense! You don't answer questions directly but skirt around the question by asking your own question back?
It's hard to think you are sincere about your participation on this board when a thread like this one from early 2011 is read. Your ramblings don't make sense.
Not trying to be mean, just trying to understand.

oook then sorry for the absence guys but i was away as i was driving up from Virginia to NY last night and wasn't able to get on here but now i am and to clarify some of the things im getting a problem with
first no, i don't have a picture of the panel and i wont be able to for the next few days as im out of town.
as far as mitch said, my boat isn't wired as yours is and there is no option for such a crossover nor do i have a need for a 220 hookup on the boat as i see that causing more problems then anything and needing a complete wiring upgrade.
So here is the situation. i have a 50 amp connection coming from the pier... its split with a Y into 2 30 amps that are plugged into each side of the boat at the aft near the diving platform.
The panel is located on the STBD side midships in the main saloon by the aft stairs (the entrance to the back bedroom) the panel has two main breakers for power with a voltage meter on each side (PORT AND STBD) and a crossover switch between them however the switch only works as a crossover only ONE of the shore power cables is hooked in to balance the load on both side, when both cables are plugged in and getting power it just trips them both when engaged.
To the right side of the panel there are breakers for the water heater, receptacles, stove and such and right below that is the bat charger indicator and switches, dead center of the whole panel there's a selector switch, huge gray round thing that has OFF/GEN/SHORE as a selector
The boat distributes the load correctly within itself when there's only one shower power connected however its still separated when both are connected and everything is still wired to the STBD side and draws power from that side, i just want to rewire it so that at least some of the items run off the port side breaker.
Hopefully that cleared up some confusion and thanks for the help guys

well Mitch if you read your past post's you'll see that everyone here was nice to you...and as some have been polite in the way they've put it, Your a smarta$$ and don't start your own threads on here you just jump in on others and cause trouble..if you want to learn or help others it's very welcome...But Dude you need to check yourself...And this isn't a closed club if it was I wouldn't be here...

Vitaliy,
I understand now what you have. Couple of questions:
-Have you tried pugging into another dock pedistal which carries twin 30 amp service? Instead of the 50 amp service to the split 30 amp cables?
- Can you turn off all breakers, then turn each breaker back on to see which load affects the supply circuit and cause the mains to trip?
If you had a inductive amp probe, you may be able to find the culprit. But if you are not comfortable with checking this, get an electrician to help you. Safety first.

Seeing the panel will help for sure...
My experience is based on a 1979 model F32 with Power Sentry and single/dual cable hookup. The Power Sentry system Trojan used essentially split the boat up into 2 circuits. With one cable plugged in, the crossover switch should normally be turned on to feed the incoming (30A) power to both circuits (but depending on the load you may trip the breaker).
If you plug two cords in, the crossover switch should be turned OFF. Then each independent circuit is getting its own 30A service.
If you want to rewire, then I would think you need original wiring schematics to figure out what to change (and you can probably buy them specific to your year / model for peanuts from Beacon Bob).
Re the Off / Gen / Shore switch - this is for turning AC power OFF, picking it up from the Generator, or from Shore (dockside) power sources. Technically speaking, you should change it from Shore to Off before cranking the Generator, then switch it to Gen; or change it from Gen to Off before reconnecting shore power (so says Trojan).

DO we think Trojan offered different AC power panels for different models in 1972?
Or, would economies of scale (even in 1972) have them using the same panel for all models, or at least similar size/load models?
If so, this 1972 "
120V 30/30 Power Sentry System" diagram should explain it all:

&

(right click and save it locally and then you can zoom it up to read it).
If anyone has wiring diagrams for ANY boats, please post them and we'll ask Don to add a sticky for Wiring Diagrams at the top of the page.
