when I first got my boat the bilge switches were attached with wire nuts.

among other amazing survey results.

screens on the bottoms of the pumps are also important to flter out large debris.

I'm not a fan of the new "computerized" automatic pumps either (typically smaller). They click on every few minutes and keep running if they detect a load. They claim not to run your battery down, but they DO use power.

here's first hand on those things...they're a P.I.T.A. put on in last yr and I'll never get use to hearing it go on and off. Yes it's coming out this winter... :x

i HAD those electronic sensing bilge switches...

nice in theory

miserable in practice !
