Gee guys, the owner of this Trojan just called me and was laughing about your posts on this website. So I joined just to let you know that not everything is a scam. Perhaps you should have called on the ad, because it was and is the real deal. And you can pretty well figure that when something comes up at a good price like this, it ain't gonna last long. It was exactly as described.

Welcome aboard. What I can say is that considering all the BS that surrounds a lot of stuff for sale on the Net these days, one can't help, and I say, should be sceptical of such claims. In this case, seems like someone got a great deal, and I'm sure all the guys here will agree that that's great.

Interesting story. Something is still a little hazy. I'm with Paul, 3,900......500. Either way sounds like a great deal if the boat is as advertised.
Welcome aboard.
good deals

Well, good deals do come along now and again. This one came from a Yachtbroker and friend. Seems he was in a sailing club with a guy who owned this boat. The guys wife said if he didn't sell it, she was going to make a planter out of it, right at the dock behind their house. So he tells my friend he'd sell it for $500. My friend says if he was serious, he'd call some one. So, he called. me. Same week, we are doing the Charlotte Harboar Boat Show and the owner of Bob and Annies Boatyard has heard of a 53 Hatteras, running, for sale for $15,000. It is at Burnt Store Marina. So next day my wife and I went there. Boat had just sold for $2,000 and left under its' own power. Went to All American yard in Port Charlotte. So see, the deals are out there. We get several a year, owning a marine towing company. People just get tired of their boat, and want it to go away cheap.

Not sure what was really going in this case, but I had a guy try to scam me when selling a Goldwing motorcycle last year. This was the scam:
1) Buyer saw my post a 86 Goldwing for $3900
2) Buyer made 3 similar fake posts for 85-87 Goldwings in my market all around $2250. All with bogus phone #s and no email.
3) Buyer then started emailing me with these other posts, noting lower milage, better condition and lower price, and wanted to know if I'd take $1900!
Well, I didn't just fall of the turnip truck and I politely told him to get lost, I'd rather the rubber rot off the tires than sell it to him for $1900.
There are deals on CL. I've taken advantige of many, but you have to be careful. If it looks, walks, and sounds like a duck...

scams are scams, i fell sucker to good one 3 years ago over a high end DOG, worth 3500$ for 600$, even had flight and transport and vet records and call apps to approve. got boasted. trying to make the wifey happy. some scams are good and some people just dont think first. Makes me always triple guess now, no internet, always in person.
