When I first got my Trojan it was insanely loud in the salon above an idle and as the rpm increased the noise increased. Cruising and yelling was not my idea of a good boat so I pulled the boat out and checked the props and shafts for straightness. One shaft was .005 out, which they said would be ok, and one prop had one blade that was out 1/4" so I took it to a prop shop and they said that it was bad enough to cause my problem. After they straightened it and recupped it I have had no noise problem and my wife and I can carry a normal conversation at 3000rpm, and no vibration. I didn't think 1/4" would make that much difference but it did.
