Will this be too deep/stick in too far? Do they make a profile that's not as deep?

I wish I could put recessed boxes in the cockpit but there's not really any depth to gunnels. Jeff, which comes first, the chicken...or the egg?
Just sayin'...

jamie id like to tolerate you right now but im spending my time in the PM hole resolving an issue right now and not happy, your hen laying eggs comment i just dont get, so please just say it. BIG D they make it seems 8 differnet boxes with 5 different sizes, deepest looks 13 inches wich would be thwe max size of lure size cases plus the box dimensions. shelf width in the cabin is 14 inches plus the bulkhead wall, plus outer shelf wall making it 15? I think. this was all just a thought. looks like a neat idea and looks like we wont lose space if its being used for what we need.

I use that shelf all the time. I throw my keys, phone and wallet on it every time a step aboard. Plus I can reach them while in the cockpit. Personally I think it would make the cabin appear a lot smaller if you ran the port seat back up to the ceiling thus eliminating the shelf. On mine, the side window over laps the shelf as well so it wouldnt be feasible on mine. Yours may be a different story.

Ditto Vabeach +2. Plus the stereo, a magazine rack and a lamp were on the wall of my late F26.

naw your right, the window does slightly over lap the self on mine too, grrr looks like I have about 9 inches to play with, if they make a shallow box I may be able to just make the shelf narrower. I also agree about making the cabin look smaller, dont want that either. hmmmm, it was a good idea at first thought, better than a home window ac unit

jeff, when your in the cabin looking out that big hole does it make the cabin appear larger? I'm kicking the idea around about hacking a big ole hole there and grabbing a newer style camper type window to stick in it. It doesnt seem with those side windows you would get much air flowing through there . just think tinted black glass "saftey even" rounded corners and no fuss. guy around the corner has a camper business and sure I can find one of a wreck to fit the space. just more 2cents to add to the pile

K, caught the neighbor at his shop early this afternoon, I bought a pair of table legs 29" with bases new for under $40. I got talking with him in reguards to the window and he brought me outback and showed me several sizes/types I'm going back in a little while as I wasnt sure how big a hole I would need. so if your interested I'll snap a few pics of ones based on the size your looking for. "If you decide the window idea" I'm leaning towards it to help vent the cabin and still have a view of the stern from the galley seats. not to hijack the post but in the future when you get to it, this guy has about 30 various campers and then another 20 he's purchased online as wrecks so he has an unlimited supply at all times of micro waves, fridges , ac units , toilet, stove holding tanks pumps ect. these salvage units are all new campers that ins co have totalled for whatever reasons / blown over/ hit by vehicles/fallin trees. ect ect
