Correction...$9.99 is the one I have which covers everything, lakes, water ways, tides, marine locations, depths, contours, bouys, markers, etc, throughout the US. Here is a snapshot from my Iphone.

I just read the difference in price is the hi def for the the larger IPad screen. The is not a problem on smaller phone screens. It also uses gps, wi fi and cell towers for your location.

I don't think this is correct. At least with my iphone version it uses the GPS reciever in the cell phone. I've been 10 miles out in the middle of lake Erie with "No Service" but the navionics still operated. Maybe i'm wrong but i don't think its using cell towers.

Looks like the nicest GPS navaid for Android so far.

PS: New here...previous lurker...just bought a 79 Tri Cabin after reading TONS of information here. After a whirlwind trip from Port Severn to Fenelon Falls the Impulsive lays in her new home berth on Sturgeon Lake in the Kawarthas region of Ontario.I'll post an intro and pictures soon.

Don`t know about the app but Navionics does cover The Trent Severn Waterway.

I think it's probably worth the $$.
How true about the level of information here. I covertly enjoyed the input of all the members over the past few months as I investigated the ups and downs of the Tri Cabin and it's various iterations. Significantly, it was here that I learned about the teak over plywood in the rear cockpit of the earlier tri cabins, eventually leading me to the 79 I purchased.Up til then I really, really liked the older versions with the rear cockpit. In reality, I prefer the raised and flush deck and walkaround!

The latest iPad (the or 3) has true GPS unlike the first two versions of iPad.
I have CMap on my iPad three with no data connection and it knows where I am.

I have the IPad 2 with at&t.
