The number on this 47 Trojan would be a number, no letter as in "F". My 1970 / 42 Footer is numbered 500-0100

Holy crap dude. I bought my father a 1961 Century woody that we have been restoring since a year ago this summer. We've spent hundreds and hundreds of hours sanding and digging out calk and pealing off paint and replacing rotten boards with new. This is a 22 foot boat. I can't imagine the job you have ahead. If it gets finished it will be beautiful...good luck.

The bottom (waterline down). We pulled all old caulk, repacked with cotton/ primed cotton/ underwater sealed/sanded all planks and painted two coats. We pulled all rotted planks (side and rear bottom) replace removed rot from ribs/ stringers/ and sprayed everything with Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer (CPES....great product!), put in new sister ribs (white oak) ,1/4 marine plywood, and finished with mahogany planks/ brass screws/cotton caulk/primed cotton/underwater sealed/ sanded/ and two coats of Blue bottom. She has been completed and we had her in the water for 1 month. We wetted the hull inside and out for 5 days. We soaked it in and out of the lake for 4 days in a row. First dip was for about 5 mins and water came in fast so out she went. We used no pumps to get a base line of inflow of water. Back in the next day for 10 mins...sump pumping all this time. Third day 20 min. dip. Forth day in for good and floating at dock with sump pump going off every 3 - 5 mins. 5-8th day sump going off every 10 mins. Switched to bilge pump only....going off every 5 mins for 45 seconds. Day 10-15 bilge pump on every 10 mins. Day 15-25 bulge every 15-20 mins. Then day 27 it took 40 mins for the bilge pump to go on. Last timing before we pulled it for the Winter storage was 42.25 mins between bilge pumping on a single bilge pump ( we have two) but the front was the only one activating due to being lower in the hull. All in all it was quite an adventure of time and pocket book. Other things done: Partial hull painting/ waterline painting/ rub rail stripped and painted/ roof painted. Engine work: double impellers (both engines) replaced, fuel pumps replaced/ batteries (5) replaced/ coil (one side) points/ pressure tested. Fuel tanks drained, old fuel dumped/ new fuel filters/ pressure tested tanks (4). Left in old spark plugs. Carbs were in wonderful condition and old owner had just rebuilt them. Engines fired up and were smooth. Went out a total of three times in the month she was in the water. Total run time on those three outings were about 4 hours. All of this was done by me and my two high school son and daughter ( except engine work..marina) between July 8 and Sept 14th. Every week day after 5 and every weekend.

Sad to see it out of the water again and shrink wrapped again, BUT for 20 plus years out of the water, just sitting on jacks on dirty gravel, she preformed like a gem.
Next spring….interior (which is all original less carpet and some upholstery) already in great shape. Some bright work touch ups. I miss her already.

she is absolutely beautiful!!! i love seeing her finally in the water and all lit up at night. nothing is more beautiful than a motor yacht, pictured at night, cabin lights on and shining bright. when we used to take BUBALA 3 out at night, dad made sure all the cabin lights were on, in his words, ''to give the landlubbers a thrill of seeing a boat lit up.'' i love my tri cabin at night when all the cabin lights are on. makes her look bigger than she is.
the story of you rebuilding her with the refloat is nothing short of fantastic--- made my day buddy, made my day.
