Well that makes it even harder, I found out the frig isn't working and a replacement is 1K so I might sign a contract at 8.5 and see what they come back with. I'm still mot sure but maybe a sea trial might change my mind one way or the other

I always liked that chris model.
However price seems high to me.
I know your in florida but here in the midwest there are a lot of nice trojans available for less than 16k

Always get a survey, mechanical inspection, and sea trial - so you know what you are really looking at (or at least know it better as things can get missed) - before the transaction completes.

So what is it ? it is the good old 5.7 (350 CID) with a stroker kit . The GM 350 has a stroke of 3.48 " Merc uses a different crank and rods and increases the stroke to 3.75 " . All the bolt ons are the same as the 350 .This is cost saving move but it also can save money when you need parts . I have not heard of any issues . The stroker kit is make by a company with a good rep for Mercury . I can't recall the name .
If you are talking about the same thing its what I call a 383. Is that the one you are talking about?

Kind of . Merc puts these cranks in the 5.7 , It however is not a 400 crank that is used on the old 350 to get 383. That was a 2 piece rear main . this is a custom crank for the latter one piece main seal block .
But it is alone the same idea for sure .

Maybe you could offer to split the difference with him if you really like it Doug. That way there is still a possibility that everone could still come out happy. Otherwise look for something else, its no big deal, lord knows there is no shortage of used boats out there right now.

Well, I had to change my signature below. This boating thing really is a sickness.

Congrats!
Yes it is a sickness.
If I don't own more than one boat at a time I get twitchy.
