It is made in Germany so Heiner might be familiar?
Seen those before Larry but don't know much about them. I think I read somewhere that they were originally designed for sail boat applications but mods may have made them applicable to power vessels now as well. There are a lot of options out there including retractable ones. Bottom line is how much $$ are you willing to part with for the convenience.
She was a 1969 36 ft wooden beauty with big blue 440s that we'll miss forever.

It will be 52 footer. Can accomodate a traditional bow thruster but would have to give up existing water tank and storage/drawers under berth bed.

Larry the seem like they could be easily damaged , I have not had any direct experience with them my self . are you you thinking about putting them on one of your toys ?

Not really, just building knowledge base if I should want to some day.

Definitely could get damaged, but you know big ships use those Izopods (sp)
