And so it begins....

Still waiting 'til the snow stops at the end of March to pull off the shrink wrap, do my inspections, and create
a very long list of "Things to do" vs. "Things one can afford to do". Spring comes late in MN. And then it will begin.

I think many of you do not know the proper definition of the words "cold" and "snow".

There was about 30 inches of snow on the ground when I shot this and it was -5*F.

I am still planning on pulling the cover on March 1st and being in the water for Easter. I have considered the possibility I will have to shovel off the decks if we get a late storm. So be it.

You've sure have us beat this year. We haven't had a true winter snow for the last couple of years. The best we did was a 10-11 incher. But we did get to -15 this year here in Mpls. Internatinal Falls MN was at -25 This morning. Easter would be great. Average "Ice out" is April 18th here.

It began yesterday afternoon when I went over to the marina and brought the dinette table home for refinishing. :D

That's the spirit ! I went over to the Marina today and paid another chunk of cash on my winter storage bill. I then crawled over the snow piles up to my knees to take a look at the bottom.....I scatched my head and thought......."I need more coffee."

Time for re-roofing with solar panels and use that fine battery operated trolling motor with extended length shaft.

We had about 2 feet of snow overnight a little over a week ago. Of course after the snowplough went by, it was 4 feet at the front of the driveway  Don't mind a little at a time but 2 feet in one shot is a lot of work. Speaking of work, time to start thinking about painting the bottom while the ice is still under her. I'm thinking/hoping middle of April to wet her bottom.
She was a 1969 36 ft wooden beauty with big blue 440s that we'll miss forever.

Which one, weather or fuel price ?

I think the maiden voyage with the Silveton and 454's will really make me miss the inline 6's!
