Yeah, that makes sense. Duh........*lol*

I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens when I re-mount them and charge the system with fluid. I appreciate the replies, guys.

The only thing you would use when assembling the cylinder would be the fluid you intend to use in the system,that would be sufficient as the seals will need some type of lube----- Mike

I'm planning just using straight ATF this time around. Boat Leveler indicates it's perfectly acceptable, and I know it's commonly used.

This is an old thread, but I ran into it today and wanted to add some info I got from Insta-Trim last year when my tabs were not fully retracting.

They told me that they use a light coating of lithium grease on the seals and cylinders during assembly. Though it should not be needed, it is OK to use it when replacing the seals.

In my case, the original cylinders looked OK, but with new seals, the tabs were not retracting smoothly and often hanging up. The lithium grease cured this problem for me.
