The cock pit has a fiberglass floor with 2 hatches. The forward one extends from in front of the companion way door to just behind the seats. It's for the engine & trans (no V drive). About a foot behind that is a smaller hatch which is where the generator is located. The generator sits just forward of the rudder post.
As far as the hoses are concerned, all of the new ones are Dayco. The old port hose and it's newer starboard mate will be replaced this spring with custom bent high pressure 304 stainless tube. I will use peices if the newer starboard hose as couplers at the end of the tubes. I'm just tired of looking at this old hose.

Thanks for the update Paul. I have two hatches also, but the rear one is over not only the rudder post but the rear portion of my gas tank that straddles the area just in front of the rudder. I use a portable gennie (Honda 2000ei) and hang it on the rear swim platform when out on the hook. I was mis-speaking when I mentioned about the green stripe hose, since I read your original post and found that you'd put green tape on it for a photo id (duh.....). You've done a fantastic job with the restoration and improvements. Now that I'm retired maybe I'll be inspired to really tackle a lot of the jobs I've kept "on the list".....only problem is I've developed a bad case of the "mananahs" ever since retiring the end of last year - so the list may get longer!
A portion of my fuel tank also blocked almost half of the area under the back hatch in mine as well. I had to make a new fuel tank that is notched around this area to make room for the generator. By also extending it a little further to port and making it taller, I was able to keep the same volume that the other tank had.
Also, those Honda generators are excellent. I used the exact same generator until I found the built in Kohler that I have now. I will be installing an insulated enclosure on the Kohler this summer to try to make it as quiet as the Honda.
