I agree. It's not simple. Could you replace it all the way to the faucet with something like this. This is a Lav by 3/8". They make them by toilet too.

I could but I would like to stay with 1/4 to the sinks as the flow is plenty and increasing it would possibly increase water use . you have to conserve on the hook . The head has hose running to it due to the fittings it has .

I'd be interested in know how you get this sorted out. My plumbing has been converted to all sea water and the hot water tank has been bypassed.

I'd like to keep the toilet on sea water, but feed the sinks with clean water and reinstate the hot water. Also, I would like to find a small tankless heater system to install under the galley sink and reclaim the area under the helm for my power inverter equipment.

I hear ya on the water usage,but if the fittings at your taps are lets say 1/4 and I am only guessing here, then it does not matter what size larger tubing you feed them with the flow can only be what the fittings allow unless you change the pressure in the line, the only benefit you could get would be more volume,(less pump cycle) and it may be easier to get the larger fittings etc...the only difference would be if you open both hot and cold and they are fed separately.....Mike

Just thought of something...say you were to plumb the whole boat with 1/2" because of the fittings etc.....now all you have to do is put a restrictor in the lines you want to cut flow down much like the low flow shower heads..might be easier than hunting for the fittings, don't ask how I know....Just a thought...Mike

That is a good point , In fact I have a valve on the feed to the head to control water flow . But I will try and stay with what size every thing is now as it works well

Prowler, sounds like you pretty much have it figured out the way you want to do it. Let us know how it turns out. Let's see pics.

Not sure about pic , this is in a very grungy area , Don't want to ruin a camera LOL / I will try not to run them at the bottom of the bilge like Trojan did .

Just update , I checked the tubing/pipe sizes of the main line(s) they are 3/8" id (1/2 od) all the way to the shower the 2 inside sink lines are 1/4" id . except where some hoses are spliced in . One thing I found is the shore water line is also 3/8" id all th e way to a cut off valve then its a few inches of 1/4" until it tees into the main 3/8 line . And yet surprisingly the system has great flow on shore water . Even so that section of 1/4 will be gone > it was added in by myself as a quick repair on a trip .
