just an update for those of you who have asked. Diagnosis' "Severe Cronic SLE". (Lupus) Start treatment next week when new blood work returns to see if my heart or kidney has been affected. Apperenty I have had it for over 8 years, it has been hiding and reaching out at its own will. Now its in full force. Time for real treatments. For now docs are shutting my immune system down and pumping steriods into me so my body should be pain free by tomorrow. Just glad its not something I did. Smoking still has to stop, I cancelled hypno tonight will try again next week. Got alot of changes to make and boat isnt one of them right now. There are alot of things ive learned to regret in just the past 8 hours. Ill keep yall posted on the boat as im allowed to get out there.

Sorry to hear that Jeff. At least now you know what it is and can get treated accordingly. All the best. Regrets? not worth dwelling on buddy. Good times are better at healing body and mind.

A friend of mine has been living with Lupus for over 25 years. He has to take medication daily and can not be in the sun without sunscreen, but other than that he lives a "normal" life. Be glad they found it and you'll now get the treatment you need. Good luck with everything, and stay optimistic. It is a manageable condition. (Quitting smoking is still recommended.)

Thanks guys, Luckly I havent been struck with the skin part of the disease, not that I cant but it is the minor before the big bang that should have happen years ago. I have acually lost a limb. That is rare even with the odds of males getting lupus, I told them about hair lose 8 years ago, today and they went nuts!! To much to explain, and auto immune likes to hide so well. Anyway Im looking at the high end of severe. 1 in 10000 get it. 1 in 60 of those are males. pretty high odds. Never had skin disorders. they are the last 2 left out, minus some small minor rashes under cloths i have been getting latly. The dead finger was the big blow at first. The hair loss was the killer. I have full body arthritis. Im good at hiding it and lying to people when they want production. I couldnt hide it with these people today. I failed 9 out of 11 symptons. worst case is it has hit my organs and i need chemo injections. thats just worst case tho, well know friday next week. For now, the boat has been labeled off limits, HA she works alot! We will see about that. Right now I feel ok but my mind is spinning, Depression is not cool. WTH did i do to deserve this? Its always the hard workers that get some BS to slow them down. I was told flat out, that if I dont slow down and learn to work the lupus, it will work and force me too. So my hard core days are numbers from what I have read. I have alot to do!!!! This IS BS ....Sorry I had to vent! She will float even if the neighborhood kids make it happen for cookie money!

I sincerely wish you the very best in your battle with this.
Get well, you have a lady that waits on you, you tore her apart, and now she is expecting you to put her all back together again.
And the rest of us are eagerly awaiting the results.

But.... she is also patient, and knows that YOU are the most important one at the moment that needs to heal and get put back together.

+1 to everything Big D, Dog House, and Torcan said. At least you now know what you're dealing with and it sounds like you're getting good advice and care. All I know about SLE is what I've read in the last twenty minutes, but it seems like people are living successfully with lupus, and for a long time. Depression is certainly understandable, but I hope you will find a way out of that hole before too long. You need all the positive energy you can muster. As for slowing down, listen to your doctor, and also talk to him/her about finding a happy medium. Seems like management and finding a balance will be key.

Sending lots of positive vibes and encouragement in your direction.

OK a boat ??? If these drugs keep up the good work Im going to paint my bildge this saturday AM. I havent fixed the bulk head wall yet but I want to clean up the ugly look while the boss is at work. Im considering NOT buying Bildge paint and shooting it with 80$ single stage auto? A little more shiny but a sealant non the less and I can load it up while it soaks into the glass and left over residues. What does anyone think? Its alot cheaper! its underneath! It will have the same purpose IMO

Are you talking about a urethane product there Jeff? The only thing I would wonder about is its resistance to things like chemicals and gasoline or things of that nature which might find thier way to the bottom of your bilge area. If you think it will hold up to that kind of exposure I suppose its ok to use it. Lots of people choose white so when you have that nice new coat of paint on there you can easilly see if you have any leaks of fluids or oil. Have you given any thought as to what color you would like to use?

yes urethane, most of our products are. Its a cheap one tho. but since it will have a very long time to cure, and even recoated if I choose. It should be just fine to the eviromental needs. I like white, but if you have hatches open when you are working, the reflection can be blinding, I already had eye issuses before the lupus came along LOL i was just thinking that adding a little black toner to grey it up just a little bit should kill the glare affect. what do you think? OH i am also going to add Flooring stick mats under the motor and gas tank in white, so if it does leak! I can wipe, clean and research the issue. Its a 20$ investment

Jeff, light gray is a good bilge color. It still looks very clean, but not so much to make you crazy if it has one speck of dirt.

I'm not really of a firm opinion color matters much in the bilge, just that some folks seem to like the white. Personally I think it attracts dirt and bilge scum like a magnet, but that may just be my own bias. I say tint it if you like, paint it black if you like, hell you could do stripes if you wanted. You could also go the easy route and do battleship gray like the factory did. Its not really critical. Do you think you will get good adhesion over the old paint/glass or will you prime the hell out of it first to make sure?
