It is intentional that the generator battery is not connected to the battery charger.

The reason the battery charger is not connected to the generator battery is because Trojan wanted the generator to be isolated. So there was no way a failed battery charger could discharge the generator battery.

Many chaptians have ask this question and this is the official word from one of Trojans engineers. ( John Leed )

As BigD and Bob said its pretty much the norm to not have a charger on the Generator battery . I have switches on mine so I can jump the generator . I have used it once to start a main of the gen .
