Hey don't fret. I big cold front is moving through this afternoon and it's supposed to be down in the 50s tomorrow at sunrise. Brrrrr!

My blackfin tuna fishing day was a bust. By the time I figured out how to get the bait below the bonita, where the blackfins are, I was almost outta bait! I caught one legal and another bigger one that got munched by a shark on the way up...barely got the head and gills!

Hope none of you guys were out today, imagine it got a bit rough, especially after seeing the damage at that marina in VA Beach. Looked like a hurricane had been through.

Ah okay, I only caught it briefly when the story was first coming out, they thought it was the beach. I was amazed because I just happened to miss all the worst parts. Every time I went out it was just sprinkling or nothing, then I see that.

My son and I were in the tournament today. I was rough out there but not to bad on our boat. We caught four Striper. Not big one. Total weight was 69.9 pounds. We beat the two boats that were already there but more were to come and I am sure someone got into some bigger ones. We drift fished today.
Tomarrow we will be trolling. Can't wait to see it we can scare up atleast three good size ones. We had a crew on board and everyone had a good time. That to me is the important thing. Winning would be nice but everyone having a good time that is good too. Will post some pictures after the tournament. Hope you all are doing great.

Mid Atlantic Rockfish shootout. We are in fourth right now for live bait. Really that won't stand. We need to get larger fish. We will try live bait again Saturday. We will be using artificials today.

Reelfishin, good luck! It seems as though the infamous "Never-E-Nuff" crew are in first place with 120 and some pounds between 3 fish so far.

My buddy Lee Tippett aboard the RodBender are in fourth as of 6:30 pm, Thursday from what I read of the results. They may be trolling...

Tear 'em up! :D

As slow as it has been I would have to wonder where they got their fish. Once can just get lucky and hit the big ones now and then. We were at Fisherman's Island yesterday and most people there were drift fishing. I don't think anyone caught very much. We left there and head for Va Beach and caught one fish. A keeper but nothing to talk about.
We drift fish today, so maybe our luck will change. On the way in we passed the first Island and there we say all kinds of birds diving inside the bay. They were diving on both sides of the channel. Now tell me that the bait fish do not know there is a tournament on. LOL.
You all have a good day.
