Tony,
I'm up for anywhere on the bay once the kids get older, I bought the boat in Havre De Grace, MD and motored her all the way down to Norfolk (over 220 miles on the GPS in two days) but that was pre-kids. I just have a hard time commiting to a multiday trip and trying to find family to watch our almost two year old and 3 month old girls for that time frame and be flexible for weather delays. But they won't be that young forever.
I've never stopped in Deltaville but have heard a lot of great things about it; one day...
The wife always wants to go back to Solomons. For us lower bay folks, Bay Creek at Cape Charles is top notch. But I suggest Solomons seeing how it's half way up the bay and no one would be more than 100 miles from home, if they were coming from some where on the bay.
Oh, by the way, I'm jealous of your latest adventure doing the loop. Thanks for the updates.

I'm up for anywhere. My only restriction is my wife's job. Her boss seems to think she is sooo important
She HAS to work every other Saturday.

OK! I can see it's time for me to join in. It seems as though there are a bunch of Trojan boat wusses on this site. Let start with the fact that in 1966 my wife and I ran our "little" 24' Chris Craft from Washington DC to Noank CT. Last year we ran our 10 meter from Clinton CT to St. Michaels. Next year we're thinking of the possibility of going to Wash DC on the 10 meter. Anyone want to meet up in Washington DC?

Our Chris Craft had a 50 gallon tank without a gauge. It had a dip stick.

No WUS here!!!! Our only constraint is the Luxury of Time off. My wife will not get vacation time until 09/11 (new job). So were restricted to cruising Fri. night and Sun. night. 2012 will be our major cruising year.
In our last boat we took many trips up the Atlantic to Atlantic city, Trump Marina. Sure miss those trips

Good for you rbcool. Trojans were made to use not sit in the marina. Atlantic City is a great place to visit by boat with lots of things to do. That's why I see DC as a place to rendezvous. Maybe you could take the boat to DC and have your wife meet you there. There's always a way if there's enough desire. Good luck to your wife at the new job.

Thanks Wes...... She is one of the rare people out there that actually loves her job.
Port Kinsail is on the way to D.C.
If I seem hesitant about DC it's because I've had the misfortune of living near DC for most of my 48 years. Worked there for almost 20 years. Been to every single museum dozens of times and most waterfront restaurants.
Having been a Fed for so long I grew to hate DC with a passion. That's just me and I'm not trying to be a smart a$$.
But if this group of Awesome guys decides to go for DC, I'll be there!!!

Hi Ron,
I was assigned there for almost 10 years (1961-1970) when I was in the military. I know what you mean about not liking the city too much but if we can get a rendezvous there next year or the year after I think we could all have a great time. Aaron's father is a longtime member at the Capital Yacht club and they have transit slips there. My wife and I stopped by last year when I attended a reunion at Bolling AFB and they seemed very hospitable. That could be a possibility.
I do believe that getting many guys to go "that far" would be an impossible task.
I have great memories of cruising on the Potomac from DC to the northern Neck of VA in our little 24 footer. Quite often we'd stop at Marshal Hall and play the slots while the kids went on the rides.

I agree There seems to be a 25 mile wall , people don't seem go beyond their comfort zone you talk about a 50 mile trip and you think your talking about a trans Atlantic crossing . Hell I use to be the same way but when I broke out of my " comfort zone" I found new places . Now I only get held back by time and money .

That's right Paul, "Now I only get held back by time and money"
Unfortunetly in this economy, with fuel prices as they are, folks are cutting back their ventures.
I typically put several hundred miles in a season on my boat when we take trips. That of course, has been curbed. However, a equal or so distance traveled by all attendants to a Trojan cruise might perk interest in some others? The other idea is that for those who don't mind cruising over a few days, here and there and can still make it up to a round-up where others merely travel 4-5 hours, is certainly doable.
I definetly need to go down river and turn RIGHT! For a little bit at least...

But Solomons in the summer time, is definetly a blast.
